ジョニー・サンダー(Johnny Thunder: 1932-)の1962年発売のシングル『テル・ハー(Tell Her)』が元歌の「テル・ヒム」は、同年ジ・エクサイターズ(The Exciters)の大ヒットシングルになりました。

作者はバート・バーンズ(Bert Berns: 1929-1967)、またの名をバート・ラッセル(Bert Russell)、『ツイスト・アンド・シャウト』の作者としても有名な人です。

そして、ビリー・デービス(Billie Davis: 1945-)やアルマ・コーガン(Alma Cogan: 1932-1966)をはじめとして、当時多数のアーチストによりカバーされていたり、日本をはじめ全世界でカバーされていたり、さらに時代を超えてカバーされている曲なのです。
